The other day I had to go to the doctor for a physical. My appointment time was 12 pm I have insurance and the doctor was in. I got there on time and registered. I thought there was only one person in front of me. 12:30 came and I still wasn’t seen. I inquired at the desk to see where I was in the line to be seen. She said that I was next. While I was wating and thought about Obamacare and started to type this. 15 minutes went by and I was still waiting. A well dressed man walks in sits down for a minute and then gets called in. Fuming at that point, I went to complain. The receptionist continued to say I was next. It was clear to me that this man knew someone. At that point I walked out. The point is this to you,
Under Obamacare, millions of illegals will be covered so therefor the doctors office will be flooded and the wait will be even longer. That is not all. Under Obamacare, the the government will be regulating how much to charge. Case in point. There may be a time where you will send someone for an MRI that costs $1,600 and the government is only paying $800.00. This will effect your income. You as a doctor may have expenses to pay and at that point decide whether or not the profession is worth it. Because of the number of people entering into the system and the government stepping in on how much they will pay, you will be overworked and underpaid. Thus, leading to a shortage of doctors. The shortage of doctors is going to contribute to tragedies. These tragedies can result in the millions.
In the free market system, the doctor can charge what he or she wants to (or needs) to. The patient can freely choose his or her doctor. If the patient needs a test, then he can schedule it and basically have no waiting time.
If the government run healthcare system was so good, then why aren’t our politicians in it? When the healthy fellow that walked in 50 minutes after me got and got serviced first by the same doctor I was seeing reminded me of all of those (like the UNIONS, government officials) who will not participate in government run healthcare.
Thank God my condition wasn’t life threatening because I would have died in there.
